Do you guys think that 2 x 400 watt halides are enough for sps in a 6 foot tank? |

I suppose that depends on the reflectors. |

That's what I've got on my 125 and my corals are happy. I'm replacing the center braces with clear acrylic center braces in the next couple days... |

Adam, how do you plan to do the bracing. Just curious. Rockin-the 400's will be fine but you may have some areas that will hav lees par but will make nice spots for your LPS and soft ones. |

Yes, I would go lower K and then supplement with some blue VHO's.

I was kinda thinking, since 400 watt bulbs are so darn expensive and cost so much to run, maybe i would be better off with my two 250 watt bulbs on the sides and one of the 400 watters in the center... my 250's are pretty bright, they are the Hamilton reefstar pendants. what do u guys think?

never tried but it but always heard that with the 400 in the center you will notice a difference in brightness. and possibly color. cause a 20k 400w bulb may not look like a 20k 250w bulb. thats just my thinking on it. and yeah i hate the cost of halide bulbs in general haha thats why i just used to keep an eye on RC for someone selling sum |
