Well looks like I finally got struck with Aptasia. I only see one small one (about 1 inch). Should I be concerned, should I jump on it???? Exactly what harm will it do?

Jump on it and jump on it now! Mix up kalk with hot water (or buy one of the market products joes juice etc.) and use syringe. Turn off pumps and slowly squirt into the aptasia. Then closely inspect tank many times a day, if you see one kill it then, not later then no matter what you have to do ;0). With only one you may be able to get ahead of it. But if they get ahead of you it can be miserable. You can be beat it but you have to be diligent daily for many weeks.

I also agree KILL IT NOW. lol You can also inject it with a small amount of lemon juice. Def. dont crush it, you can end up with babies everywhere.

Depending on the size and contents of the rock you could take it out of the tank for a few days? I had aptasia on rock once but luckily it didnt have any corals on it and it wasnt too big so I just took it out of the tank and aired it out for 2 days. Havnt seen any since.

Aptasia-X is what I used. Had three used the stuff and they are all gone. No reoccurance. They just kind of imploded. Where are you located? I have enough of that stuff to share if you are nearby.

Well I had the same idea of taking the rock out. It was a small one with no coral. I saw3 aptasia when i took it out. I put it out on my deck and will leave it there for 3 days. Do you guys think that will work?

Should be dead. Clean the rock off with a tooth brush and RO water to amke sure you brush off any dead stuff to keep from having negative impacts to the system due to a bunch of dead stuff being brought back in.

ONLY thing that ever worked for me (long term).

JB told me once that natural predators were the best - point taken!  Never tried Copperband Butterfly as I am afraid my Purple Tang would kill it.

Tried injecting vinegar & lemon juice, covering with kalk paste, Joe's Juice and AiptasiaX...only peppermint shimp have kept them in check.

I would think drying the rock would work buy I bet you'd be surprised how many days they'll last!
