when i got home today my copperband was caught on my drain line going into my sump. He was probably being sucked onto it for about an hour. he did end up dying. is there any way to prevent this from happening again.

If he got caught in the return, it was probably because he was weak from malnourishment. What were you feeding him? Copperbands are difficult fish to keep.

I know a good way, don't get another copperband butterfly, as JB said they are tough fish to keep.

Is there any sort of strainer or screen over the intake? |

Can you put a T into the return to reduce the amout of suction that it has? I saw one where they had put a long pipe in the return and drilled like a hundred holes in it and it retruns the same amount of water but you cant even feel the suction going through them. |
